Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO)

Includes stats, database, magazine, archives, and resources. Database on agriculture includes ten main subjects such as legislation, economy and development (includes trade), plant science and production, plant protection, post harvest technology, animal science, production and protection, agricultural machinery and engineering, natural resources and environment, processing of agricultural products, and pollution. The database on economics includes stats, commodities and trade, economic studies, food security, nutrition, food quality, global perspectives and stats databases. The fisheries database includes information on resources, production, trade, management, environment, socio-economics, stats, publications, library, meetings, regional offices, and statutory bodies. The forestry database includes information by country, subject, structure and mission, publications, databases and site maps. The nutrition database includes information on food nutrition and agriculture review, Codes Aliementarius Commission, JECFA, food composition, nutrition, education, nutrition requirements, household food security, food control, nutrition assessment, international conference on nutrition, food and nutrition data, and publications. The site is dedicated to publishing information regarding human trafficking, migration movements, and technical assistance available for migration issues.

This site is dedicated to technical committees and ad-hoc working groups that evaluate the impact on investors, intermediaries, markets and regulators of the developments in technology and Internet stocks. Some of the activities advertised on this site are IOSCO organized annual conferences and a documents file.

 

International Organization for Standardization (ISO)

The standards and world trade section of this site looks at the WTO and the ISO and their common goals. This part of the site also has information from the Agreement on the Technical Barriers to Trade which established the rules on standards. There is also information on the Sanitary and Phytosanitary issues regarding standardization and then further information on all topics that is part of the workshops page.

This site is a agglomerate of several hundred sites that are part of the UIA. The site is divided by profiles, projects, and products and then cross listed with each other based on overlying areas.

The site focus areas on poverty, gender, environment, and governance. Access to UN systems, such as the UN web site locator, UN bookmarks, and UN agency information and permanent missions.

United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCR)

This UN organization looks at human rights abuses ranging from racism to genital defiguration. There are committees that look at these issues and make decisions. Their decisions and research are available on the site.

Contains UNITAR statutes, staff reports, publications, Board of trustees, information regarding communication technologies, peacemaking and preventive diplomacy programmes, debt, economic and financial management, foreign economic relations, international affairs management, applications and environmental law, chemcials and waste management, climate change, decentralized cooperation and international migration policy.

This organization is part of the WTO and is made up of member countries trying to form agreements on how to bring trade to the lesser developed members. Some of the issues that this group looks at are technical assistance and training courses.
